About the WATERPAN
The WATERPAN by fjäril handmade percussion was designed by me and has been continuously developed since 2017. From an idea and countless hours of trial and error, it has now become a handcrafted musical instrument of high and consistent quality. For me, this is a step to send my work out into the world.
The latest version of my water-filled waterpan – fjäril handmade percussion sounds even better thanks to the second ring and doesn’t need an additional stand when played on the floor or table or snare stand. It also sounds free when played by hand.

A glimpse into my workshop where every musical instrument is handmade
Our Team
A team both privately and professionally for 25 years.
As a married couple and parents, we found our way to self-development and freedom and traveled to Central America two years ago. Sweden has now become our new home. We create spaces for encounters – whether online or offline on our island – by offering coaching, therapeutic support and musical improvisation courses.
New musical instruments and sound sculptures are created in our workshop.

Yes, we aim to ship the Waterpan all over the world. However, shipping costs can vary greatly and are to be borne by the buyer
I tried hard to find a possibility and did it. It’s possible for you to tune it in a range of a few tones putting water inside oder pulling it out. Be aware that I tuned it on the best tone.
The Waterpan represents improvisation and playing with the element of water. As a sound sculpture, it enjoys the freedom of not tuning itself rigidly to a single tone, but rather embracing its unique range of sounds.
The Waterpan embodies the essence of improvisation, dancing fluidly with the element of water. As a living sound sculpture, its unique, multi-layered construction responds to shifts in temperature and air pressure. This dynamic nature allows its fundamental tone to shift slightly over time—a quintessential characteristic of the Waterpan. Even so, its tonal range spans from F3 to F4, offering both deeper and higher resonances.
